Hi all!
I’ve got a laptop which I want to turn into an all in one PC. The bottom casing has broken as it’s made from plastic but the display and all internals are a-okay.
The mother board is tiny for a 13-inch laptop so I was thinking I could mount it to the back of the top lid, add some feet and hey presto!
I was thinking of using the metal part of the bottom casing to cover it, and potentially some mdf to mount the board to with some 6mm female to female stand-offs, which would then be glued to the back of the top lid. The only issue is the display connector is a bit short and I can’t figure out where to get an extender.
Also there is a secondary board with a USB 3 port and 3.5mm jack which I will probably mount very close to the motherboard to keep it as compact as possible and then finish it in matte black spray paint.
Also the power button is mounted to the keyboard (which works perfectly) so that’s another thing to work out. What could I use the keyboard and trackpad for as they’re still working fine?
I’ve never done anything like this before so any help would be great!
