Hi all,

This is my first post here, nice forums!

I am making an illuminated wine cooler from a transparent plastic flower pot with bluetooth speakers. I'd like some tips on my battery decision!

So The plan is to have an array of 50 rgb LEDs on the bottom. each led is 0.3W over 5v, so 60mA. I want the cooler to be able to work for at least 5 hours in my garden. Quick maths... I need a 15000mAh battery.

Next to this I built a JBL bluetooth speaker into the cooler which i also want to work for 5 hours. I will probably need more than 20.000mAh in total.  First thing I thought of was a phone powerbank as a battery.

Are there other good and maybe cheaper options than a powerbank?

Thanks in advance!

Martijn

raw 18650 cells or similar. Be sure to use a proper protection board for balanced charging and safe discharging. since you need 5v, you can step down from 2cell or up from one cell. If the LEDs are not something similar to ws2812, put them in series and make it a 12 system then run it on 3cells
