I've noticed that resin crafting can be a little overwhelming for beginners, especially with so many different materials and project ideas available.

If someone is just getting started, I think choosing a manageable first project makes a big difference.

Here are a few beginner-friendly options worth considering:

1. Resin Coasters

Coasters are a practical starting point for learning how to measure, mix, color, and pour epoxy resin. They're also a good way to experiment with mica powders and different color combinations.

2. Small Resin Jewelry

For smaller projects, UV resin can be convenient because it cures under a suitable UV light. Pendants, charms, and keychains are common examples, although curing depth and pigment compatibility still matter.

3. Decorative Resin Trays

Trays offer more room for creative designs, including marble effects, metallic pigments, and layered colors. The resin should be suitable for the intended casting depth, and decorative trays shouldn't automatically be assumed to be food-contact safe.

4. Custom Silicone Molds

Making silicone molds is another interesting DIY skill. It takes some preparation, but it's useful for anyone who wants to create original shapes rather than relying entirely on ready-made molds.

When researching different resin supplies, I've also come across brands like Bond Craftor that focus onepoxy resin, UV resin, silicone mold-making materials, and crafting accessories.

For anyone interested in exploring resin crafting supplies, here's their website:

I'm curious what others think: Would you recommend starting with small epoxy projects, UV resin jewelry, or something completely different? And what was the biggest challenge you faced when you first started working with resin?
