Hi everyone,
The video where Matt builds a DIY 4k projector brought me here (
What a fantastic video and explanation and walkthrough!
I want to take this build to one extreme. I want to make the image created as bright as possible, even if only for less than a second. I was thinking to use one of those high powered photography flash lights (strobes) to deliver that high intensity light.
I am willing to pay a consultant to help me make this as I simply do not have the knowledge to bring it home but I really don't even know what kind of engineer I'm after as there are so many disciplines involved in this project. Optical engineer? Mechanical engineer? Electrical engineer? 3 in one? Where would I even find such expertise for hire? Upwork?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Just to clarify, what's the use-case here, if you don't mind telling us?
There's a new technology coming to market that uses lasers vs. a normal projector. They can be used in normal daylight (unlike projectors) and don't cast a shadow like a projector does.
Of course, you might have something entirely different in mind! 🙂
Take everything I say with a pinch of salt, I might be wrong and it's a very *expensive* way to learn!
@marcdraco The use case would be to use it in photography. I've done a fair bit of shoots using a projector but the light has always been a problem. I want to see what it would be like with a higher intensity light.
Have any links for these new projectors?

Gotcha! Studios (i.e. movie studios) are using huge LED panels now but they are well outside anything a multi-billion dollar corporation could afford. I'm actually using rear projection for my current movie, which means the entire set has to be pitch black and we're going to have to hire sub F1.0 lenses (there goes my DOF) and all my savings!
Does that link really have to be so... LONG.... That's an example, it's not the best one around but it's the first that popped up. I'm not an expert on these as they are a recent development but will replaced projectors at a lick and even BIG TVs. Doesn't seem like a couple of years ago I dropped that much on a 50" plasma!
And check THIS 200" beast out!

Why not hire the complete package of Brisbane Construction Companies to do everything? I feel like its more cheaper and easier to manage.
