DYI Idea: MacBook to Portable Handheld System

Hi,

i would love to see a MacBook transforming into a portable handheld System like the Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch.

Why / Motivation

The Apple Silicon processors got really powerful and less energy than a Steam Deck.

It's even possible to play iOS Games on macOS.

I and many other Teammates are using the MacBook only as a portable PC which is always connected to a Thunderbolt Dock.

Also, it can be a real pain to use a laptop on public transport, as there isn’t always enough space.

I would even love to buy such a device as the iPadOs is too limited to use it as a Computer.

Technical details:

Controllers: It seems to be pretty easy to attach Nintendo Switch Controllers to any hardware. The controllers are even using USB internally...

Display: Maybe the Display needs to be exchanged to have a touch screen on it and to have a smaller form factor.

Keyboard: macOS has a virtual Keyboard, would be just nice to trigger this somehow with a button, maybe this could be done by an AppleScript and a USB Button.

Challenge: The many microphones, Touch ID and the Camera could be a challenge to build in.

Sidecar: macOS comes with an external Monitor mode called "Sidecar" for iPadOS/iPad Touchscreen, it would be awesome if this could be enabled for the Touch Screen as well. This would make all things pretty easy.

At least one Thunderbolt connector should be always accessable from the outside for USB-C adapters and Docks.
