- Hi my name is Ahmed from Sudan and would like to propose the following device:
- Since the clay pot achieves cooling by being quiet porous and sustain a thin film of water at their surfaces which is exposed to the ambient air and some of the water evaporates cooling the pot in the process.
- General description:
- Two concentric vessels with an inner vessel that serves as a cooled water resirvior, the external surface of the inner vessel serves as a thin film evaporative surface.
- Air is introduced at the bottom of the annular void between the two vessels contacting the thin film on the surface of the inner vessel and vented at the to resulting in evaporative cooling.
- Heat transfers through the wall of the inner vessel to the contained liquid .
- The inner vessel is constructed out of textured claded aluminium to promote higher retention and surface area for heat transfer.
- A water circulation system pumps water from the bottom of the reservoir to a distribution head that supplies water to the upper surface of the textured metal on the outer surface of the enclosed vessel.
- An induction fan on the top of the device pulls air through the annular cavity.
- A control system orchestraes the operation of the device and the device should be battery powered to accommodate poor power supply conditions.
Since the device is dependent entirely on evaporative cooling should consume low power or maybe supplemented with a tec to achieve lower temperature and to absorb the effects of the variable air supply conditions.
