Im really new to all this,,probably doin it all wrong.
Can anyone tell me how to reuse a SP8 keyboard from a lap top, on to a desktop.

Not sure which one you have, but generally it's not practical since they use entirely different interfaces. Laptops use a parallel design whereas PCs these days have an interface to USB. Previously they were pure serial.
If you want a laptop-type keyboard for a PC, there are plenty of affordable Bluetooth ones around and BT interfaces are pretty cheap now.
Obviously, if you spend more, you'll get a better one but that's usually a given.
Take everything I say with a pinch of salt, I might be wrong and it's a very *expensive* way to learn!
