Building a small 2" monitor with VGA input

Apologies if this isn't the right place to post this kind of thing, this would be my first DIY electronics project. I have a Superheadz Necono camera (the little cat part of the image below) but the base with the monitor is impossible to find, so I had the notion to build my own.

It uses mini-USB 2.0 Type A as its output and has an adapter for RCA, so I can just plug it into a monitor or tv that has RCA inputs, so ultimately I would just need a small LCD panel that can take RCA input, a way to power it, and casing for it, but I feel like I'm diving into the deep end without knowing how to swim, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful.
