Hi Matt, I loved this video very much, but there's some vital information missing from it (for me, anyway)

I wish you'd of shown how you get multiple video and audio hdmi inputs through both the TV and the 5.1 sound system.

How do you select or change from a games console to the consealed computer? I'm hoping with a remote control.

Also, the number of amplifiers and control boards required is confusingfor me, especially after watching the video with them stack together, how many of each board did you need to build the 5.1 sound system?

And finally, I'm assuming that this is a passive system and not an active system? I would like to build this sound system so that I do not need an av receiver to change from one HDMI input to another and my TV doesn't have enough HDMI ports to do this.

I'm really hoping that you aren't plugging all your HDMI deivces into the TV and just running sound through this system.

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Steve

(P.S. as this was a question about audio & video, I wasn't sure where to post this! lol Please feel free to move it to the appropriate sub forum.)

My guess is the decoder he's using has Arc HDMI. So the computer and PS5 plug into the TV an HDMI cable goes from the TV arc port to the input on the decoder.

But I'd like to know what decoder he used in the video? The one that is linked is for an older style that uses RCA outputs. I'd like to build one of these amps using the same Dayton DSP 4 by 100 watt boards. I'd like to get the decoder he used that has the sweey wiring harness connectors.

This is the one I used, but unfortunately it went out of stock before I published the video so I couldn't really post it in the description! Really annoying as it's a brilliant board with a very high quality output.

@diyperks Guess what's back in stock!

I really wanted to do that in the "They're heeeerrrreee!" voice from Poltergeist but I couldn't pull it off. I'd like one of those but ya know. Development costs! 🙂

Take everything I say with a pinch of salt, I might be wrong and it's a very *expensive* way to learn!
