Hello DIY perks
I have a g185bge-l01 display and want to connect it via hdmi to my pc. Can anyone tell me how I can do that and what I need?
Thanx
Not really a DIY thing. You'll need an inverter assembly I expect - unless you have one with all that fitted from the OEM?
Take everything I say with a pinch of salt, I might be wrong and it's a very *expensive* way to learn!
Do you have a port on the tv for HDMI?
To connect your G185BGE-L01 display to your PC via HDMI, you'll need an HDMI controller board specifically designed for your display model. These boards can be found online or from electronics suppliers. Once you have the HDMI controller board, you'll need to connect it to your display's LVDS input and then connect the HDMI cable from your PC to the HDMI input on the controller board. This setup should enable you to use your G185BGE-L01 display as a monitor for your PC, which could be useful for tasks ranging from work to tourism research or entertainment.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
@gossi123 OP wants a touchscreen, not a simple monitor though.

@gossi123 Tanx for the reply. I have been looking for a controller board but couldnt find it. Ask the OEM but they wont help a consumer only companies.
I believe @Gossi123 is referring to a 3rd-party standard LVDS controller module which are available on eBay. I've had a few of these over the years with varying degrees of success.
I've never seen one with a touch screen controller but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
The datasheet (G185BGE-L01_Datasheet.pdf (distec.de)) doesn't mention a touch interface, but the controllers look like this:
HDMI DVI VGA Audio LCD LED Controller Board For N140BGE-L21 N140BGE-L22 LVDS | eBay
But it's important to check with the seller that it supports your board, many of these are configured for multiple different panels and the seller might have to solder the correct setup before they send them to you.
Of the three I've done personally, two worked without issue, the third... didn't and I know the panel works correctly. The seller couldn't fix it so I got stuck with £30s worth of useless controller.

@marcdraco thanx for the reply. I searched ebay but couldnt find a controller board for this panel. Do you have a specific supplier?
That display likely doesn't have an HDMI input. G185bge-l01 models typically connect to PCs using a VGA cable. You might need an adapter if your PC only has HDMI ports.
